Atari’s MARC ECHO’S GETTING UP: *******S UNDER PRESSURE for the PC is an interesting combination of action, third-person fighting, and graffiti. One of the main goals of the game is for the player to spray paint as many surfaces as possible, an interesting quest that makes GETTING UP a unique game. GETTING UP takes place in the futuristic city of New Radius. Players control Trane, a young man who enjoys putting his name on everything, especially walls. The storyline begins with Trane musing about his current predicament, and then the game jumps into flashback mode, showing players how Trane ended up where he is and giving them some of the history of New Radius and the various factions involved in its politics. Many of the levels are set up with a number of surfaces Trane must spray paint. There will also be other areas he can paint to pick up bonus points, which can be used to unlock some of the game’s extras. Then there are the bonus challenges for each level, which usually involve achieving some sort of goal within a time limit. However, marking walls and other surfaces with Trane’s name won’t be so easy. Police, rival graffiti artists, and others wonder each level and won’t hesitate to take Trane out if they see him. Fortunately, Trane has no qualms about fighting back. Gamers looking for an interesting mix of fighting, puzzles, and action will enjoy MARC ECHO’S GETTING UP: *******S UNDER PRESSURE.
